Phillip credits photographer Ansel Adams for igniting his passion for black and white imagery, while Pablo Picasso and Barcelona street artists and influenced him during the early stages of his artistic career. His background in photography and cinematography continue to play a role in his compositions.
Despite the lack of color in much of his art, light still plays an integral role, with sunlight or moonlight peeking through clouds or reflecting against waves. Gazing at his art, many have said, “I see God in your painting. I can feel Him in the rays of light.” Phillip has found a unique way to make his art become personal and inspirational.
